Kunal Rao

Kunal Rao is a writer and one of the pioneers of Indian standup, and co-founder of East India Comedy (EIC), a popular comedy collective and YouTube channel where he was critical to the success of various live and web comedy properties such as the ‘Ghanta Awards’ and ‘EIC Outrage’.

Rao has performed over 1,000 shows in India and abroad, including international comedy festivals like the Magners International Comedy Festival in Bangkok in 2017 and the Utrecht International Comedy Festival in The Netherlands in 2014. 

His comedy special ‘Done’ released on Amazon Prime Video in 2019. Through the hour, he draws on his personal experiences as an awkward and introverted individual and how he deals with a world that seems to be coming at him all the time. Given his corporate background and international work experience, Rao is also a top choice for brands and companies.

Kunal has written for various publications including Hindustan Times. He has also written for various brands including Amazon Prime, Star Network and Jaguar India.
